Mosquito House League Attendance

Important message regarding Mosquito House League attendance issues

ATTENTION ALL MOSQUITO PLAYERS AND PARENTS! As of late there has been a been a major attendance issue with several of our Mosquito house league teams. There is a concerning number of defaults occurring which is prohibiting regularly attending players from playing a competitive game of baseball. These players have paid the same registrations fees as everyone else and are missing out on a game of ball. The PMB executive have held discussions on this topic and have come up with the following solution for the remainder of the regular season.

From this point forward, all parents and/or players need to RSVP "YES" to their coach by the morning of their scheduled game through the SportsEngine app or via email. If the coach determines that they are going to be short players for the game, we are going to provide them with a list of call-up players that they can choose from to fill out their rosters for that game. Those players contacted for call-up will be GUARANTEED a game of ball that evening. If players do not RSVP "YES" or inform the coach of their intentions and show up at the game unexpectedly they may not be allowed to play or will have to sit out some innings to accommodate the extra call-ups.

The PMB executive made several changes to the house league program this year to try and combat the low attendance issues, such as, increasing the rosters sizes to 15 or 16 players, tracking standings to hopefully drive interest, making HL attendance mandatory at least 75% of the time for our A and AA all-star players, just to name a few. This has not proven to be enough and therefore we have to take additional action.  The executive are also discussing further changes to be implemented next year that we are hoping will improve attendance and the overall house league experience for our players.

We appreciate your understanding and patience and hopefully this change will allow all of our players to enjoy the great game of baseball and finish the season on a high note.

Thank you,

PMB Executive
