Baseball Coordinator/Instructor/Umpire

Paradise Minor Baseball has been a key part of the Paradise community for 29 years. Our objective is to deliver a thrilling summer baseball program to Paradise youth ages 4 to 18, that provides organized and supervised participation, coaching, instruction and skill development in the sport of baseball.

Each season PMB employs and supervises students as baseball instructors and umpires to assist with the execution of our summer Baseball program. The successful applicants will:

  • Plan, coordinate, and assist in the operation and delivery of the PMB Summer Baseball Program.
  • Teach and develop baseball skills to registered participants on a prescribed baseball program.
  • Officiate (Umpire/Score Keeping) youth baseball games and tournaments ensuring safety while emphasizing respect in sport.

We are seeking candidates for both full-time and part time positions with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Energetic & demonstrating enthusiasm for working with children in minor sport.
  • Experience working with children in a recreation setting.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Experience in playing the sport of baseball at various levels would be an asset.
  • Experience in umpiring and officiating baseball games at various levels would be an asset.
  • Experience instructing baseball to both children and/or adults would be an asset.
  • Experience in developing and implementing seasonal and lesson plans, including developing learning progressions for skills development would be an asset.
  • Umpire training and certification.
    • A minimum Level I certification is required and training will be provided if necessary.
  • A current and clean Certificate of Conduct/Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Valid Emergency/Standard First Aid Certificate.

Working with Paradise Minor Baseball you will work in a fun environment to develop important life and work skills including responsibility, developing and maintaining relationships, organization & preparedness, and how to professionally and respectfully interact with people/clients/co-workers.
